Reykon was born on December 12, 1986 Envigado, Antioquia. In 2002, he formed a musical group with his fellow students, Musik Man and TaTallillo, which they called RTM, after which TaTallillo and Haider Sarmiento retired, changing the name to "Mike y Musik".
In 2007, he began his solo career and released the song "Como me cuesta", a romantic song. In 2009 he became known throughout his country with the song "La Santa", since then Reykon became the most recognized urban artist in Colombia.

In 2012 Reykon became the first Latin American artist to record along with Daddy Yankee, who is the greatest exponent of urban genre worldwide. The song Señorita with Daddy Yankee quickly became number 1 of the stations in countries like Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, Argentina.
